Our Story
Sharon started her affordable housing career in 1999 as an asset manager at the Atlanta Development Authority
where she was assisted with underwriting and operational oversight of 4% LIHTC/Tax-Exempt Bond transactions.
The COVID-19 pandemic crisis caused widespread unrest in society and unprecedented lifestyle changes in lifestyle,
work and social interactions. Sharon also began having profound conversations about work, wealth and equitable
opportunities, particularly for minorities. Despite never wanting to be an entrepreneur, these conversations led to the
same conclusion that it is time to start her own company. Having never been granted an opportunity for ownership
participation despite her contribution to many of these companies, Sharon knew that ownership would be the most
effective path to help address the lack of opportunities for other BIPOC developers. In late 2021, the death of one of
her mentor, Noel Khalil, was the precipice. His death left a vacancy for her personally and professionally and served
as a catalyst to act.
After 24 years of experience, Sharon launched Radiant Development Partners in January 2023. Sharon has been
originating deals for more than 15 years and is known for her vision, persistence and steadfast commitment to
serving people through building quality housing. She’s developed nearly 3,500 units in metro Atlanta, with a total
capitalization of nearly $1 Billion. She worked in the public sector, ran a property management company and worked
for several development organizations that included, for-profits, not-for profits and even a public housing authority.
Ownership has dual purposes for Sharon. It allows her to implement HER mission with the care and quality
deserving of families needing impactful, high quality, affordable housing options at various income levels. It also
allows Sharon to fulfill her personal goal of creating and facilitating opportunities for other minorities seeking real
estate development careers and ownership, that are generally not afforded to them.
